I swear, it feels like this week is taking forever to get over with. It's probably because I'm counting down the days until payday, again!
This week has been slow and uneventful (kinda).
Monday was a quiet day, all except for the Virginia Tech incident, which is just heartbreaking. It's also scary because I don't live far from there and I work at a major university. I guess you can't prevent everything. VT is as big as the campus I work on, it would be so hard to prevent something like that from happening- you just have to pray that something like that never happens here, I guess. I, of course, spent my evening on the couch hanging out with Sean and Chad.
Tuesday was much of the same quiet as Monday, except for a friend of mine was involved in a car accident and killed. We were good friends in high school and sort of lost touch in the last couple of years. I think the last time I saw her was last summer. Her younger sister was friends with Michael's sister. She has recently got into some trouble, including a DUI and some drug possession charges. Apparently she was leading a pretty troubled life. She crossed the center line and hit a mini van head on. She was killed on impact at the young age of 19.
Wednesday. Ugh. I called into work. I woke up with the worst headache ever, and on top of that I just didn't want to get up. I called in and left my boss a voice mail, rolled over and turned the alarm off....then slept until 10 am. When I finally got out of bed, I felt much better. I got 2 loads of laundry washed, then I had to run to the bank, met a friend for lunch, and hung around the house all afternoon. I cooked dinner at Chad and Sean's house last night. Grilled pork chops, mac and cheese, green beans, corn...yum!
Now it's Thursday. Today is a crazy busy day. I shouldn't even be blogging right now. I got to work at 7:30. I have a meeting from 10 to 11:30, then a birthday lunch for a co-worker and a big event for graduation seniors this afternoon. I'm not going to spend much time at this desk today. After work I have Weight Watchers and a fire meeting. The viewing for my friend is tonight, but I just don't do funerals. I know that sounds lame, but I get so upset every time I go to one that it's just not worth it anymore.
On Monday I talked to the lady I interviewed with. They sent the request to hire to Human Resources. She didn't say it was me, but she didn't say it wasn't either. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
We have big plans this weekend. They involve drinking and having lots of fun! :)

Sorry to hear about your friend, even though you haven't seen her in a while it has to be a shock to the system - hang in there.
