Thankful...

I was walking across campus yesterday, on my way to the post office, and I was thinking about where my life is right now. I guess you would say that I was reflecting. I was remembering the past couple of weeks/months and looking at the present time. I was thinking about a number of things, but one thing that I focused on, and have increasingly become more aware of, is the great things going on in my life right now.

I passed all 3 sections of the subject test to be a teacher, on the first try. It's good considering 97% of students fail at least one section on the first try. I don't know how I did it, but I'm glad it's over.

Since I passed the subject test, I was officially accepted to the Teacher Education Program as a junior. It makes my dream of being a teacher much more real, and a lot more exciting. I am excited about graduating and teaching!

I got an A in my class this semester, on the points scale I received 497 out of a possible 500 points. Of course, I'm very pleased with this.

I have my school schedule in place for next semester, I'm taking a Math Education course and a Sociology course, both promise to be quite interesting. I ordered my books today. This may be the first time in my college career that I have planned this far ahead for a semester. Classes do not start until January 12th.

Of course, with all the good I have some annoyances. My Grandparents are still here. They've more than worn out their welcome, and I know I sound like an inconsiderate spoiled brat, but seriously - they're driving me crazy! I could go on and on about how they use the bathroom, turn the fan on and leave the door hanging wide open. The stench is so bad it nearly knocks you down when you pass the bathroom. Can you say inappropriate? Oh, and the poor speakers on the TV. The TV stays at a constant volume level, I like to call it obnoxious. The poor speakers sound like they're going to vibrate out of the darn thing. And....do they have a bed time? Apparently not! They seem to find it necessary to yell from one end of the house to the other while we're all in bed, because we work 40+ hours a week. Did I mention that they have a camper with all the amenities they need, but they fail to use it for anything but sleep? Yeah...I'm sooooo over it!

Mom has her surgery on Monday, December 22nd and she had made it clear that she doesn't want anyone in her house when she comes home from the hospital. Hopefully, they're gone. That was the purpose of them coming for Thanksgiving instead of Christmas, too bad we didn't know they were going to stay for a friggin' month!

Happy Thursday!
A
