So, I've got myself in a little bit of a pickle ya see. Kinda.
I'm taking a class at night about Children's Literature. The problem? The teacher is useless. Sure, she's old and she has been teaching for a long time so she should be a valuable resource. But - shes not!! She talks about things totally off the subject like punishment, politics, and child birth. My class is from 5 - 8:15 and I think we only talk about things actually related to the class for roughly 45 minutes...it's painful!
I e-mailed my advisor this morning and asked her the consequences of dropping the class. I'd rater take the W for withdrawing, then potentially making anything below a B, and to be honest - I really really really want an A.
Because I have the advantage of working at the wonderful college I attend, I have some experience with this instructor. I used to work in the English department and I got to see her disorganization and procrastination long ago. When I signed up for her class I knew it would go 1 of 2 ways, either she would be too busy or sidetrack to actually teach and pretty much hand us the grade, or she would just stay off subject, confuse the hell out of us, and expect us to come in and take a test with terms etc. that we have learned nothing about because she was too busy procrastinating to teach. Looks like it didn't go in my favor.
The good news is that I know the teacher that teaches it during the day, and I really like him and I've only heard good things about him. I'm crossing my fingers hoping my advisor e-mails me back and tells me that there is nothing to worry about, I can drop the course and take it with the other professor next semester and it won't hurt me. *Crosses Fingers*
On another note, I started the 2nd job last night. It wasn't bad at all, I worked 7-11 and I didn't even have a hard time getting out of bed this morning. I am working as a cashier at the local grocery store, which I worked at all through High School (different location, but same store). I was actually an office assistant then, and I'm told that is the plan - to put me back in the office in a couple of weeks (you know - "Ashley to register 3 for customer service please"). Like clockwork, M came in and came through my line - I was cordial to him just like any other customer, except when he walked away I believe I said something like "asshole" under my breath. :)
I researched tire prices online yesterday, then I took 3 Tylenol and cried for the rest of the afternoon - kidding. But darn, tires are expensive! There is a broken belt in one of my tires now (don't know which tire), so I have to get tires as soon as possible, like this weekend. Hopefully my dad will call around and get prices today, it usually helps when he says his name and the company he works for when he calls for prices :)
Hope you all have a great Tuesday!
