A little random update....

I'm long overdue for one of those "whats going on in my life" updates.

I'm going to do the bullets:

  • School is going great! I'm loving my public speaking class. I recently decided I wanted my major to be Elementary Education. All the classes I have taken so far count, so I'm set to go. I always wanted to teach, but always shyed away from it because I've heard teachers don't make a lot of money. But, you know what they say...."Money doesn't buy happiness".

  • Work is also going well. I'm not extremely busy, but I have several small projects I am working on simultaneously.

  • Weight Wa*tchers has been a struggle lately. I've hit a plateau and I'm having trouble. My meeting leader is AMAZING and has been helping me a lot. We have discovered that I'm not getting in enough protein, vegetables/fruits, dairy products or healthy oils. I eat to many starches. My new plan for this week was to make sure I ate enough veggies/fruits, dairy, protein and healthy oil. Mom and I have been taking 2 tsp. of safflower oil very morning and chugging (literally) 16 oz. of skim milk. Then first thing in the morning I have some of it already done! If I don't loose weight this week, something is seriously wrong with me.

  • My car has 16,000 miles on it and is 9 months old. It's making a funny chirping noise. I have to return it to the dealership tomorrow morning at 7 am and get a rental car. They say they're going to fix it in one day, but in my past experience with them, it takes 2 days.

  • Josh....I could go on for hours here. He wrecked his 4 wheeler last Sunday. NOBODY called to tell me, until I received a random text message last night from a friend of his, "Did u hear about Josh?". Ummm, no!?! My heart sank. I was so afraid he was going to tell me he was in the hospital again. Sadly, I was relieved when he told me he had a 4 wheeler accident and broke his collar bone. Now, I could have kicked Josh's butt. He actually called me last Sunday and he was getting ready to go riding with some friends. He even called me that night before he went to bed and never mentioned that he spent the entire afternoon in the emergency room. I haven't called him all week because I've been busy with work, school, fire company, etc. I called him this morning (because the text message I got last night was around midnight) and he didn't answer, so I left a message. He called me back around 2:30. When I answered, he said "Hey Babe." I said, "Hey, how are you?" He said "I'm doing alright". I said "You have anything you want to tell me?" and then he said "Yeah, I'm sorry I didn't tell you last week. I just didn't want to worry you anymore then I already do. Who told you?" I said "JP, he cares." He said "I'm sorry." You could tell he felt bad that he didn't tell me, but I knew there had to be more to it - why would I worry. It's just a collar bone right? At least it wasn't another heart attack/stroke or seizure. Here's the kicker, they want to do surgery because it's actually cracked in 1/2 - but because he doesn't have insurance he won't have the surgery. It's not life or death, but he won't be able to lift things without experiencing pain for the rest of his life if he doesn't get it fixed correctly. He's such a man!!! I don't think it helps that he has this "I have nothing to live for" attitude.

  • My grandpa has shingles. He's not doing well so it looks like we will be making trips to PA for Christmas and Thanksgiving. Y'ay! :) I hate it that my grandpa is sick and they can't make it here- but I'm glad I am going to get to see Josh and keep an eye on him. I haven't told him I'm coming yet. Every year around Thanksgiving he calls to ask me when I'm coming. Last year I didn't go because of Duncan...but this year - I have no excuse! :)

I guess that's all. Life in general has been really busy lately. I'm trying to get ready for the busy holidays. :)

I've been reading different theories on weight loss - one that differs a little from WW is that you should take in over 100 ounces of water a day- maybe you need to increase that?
